FECC FAMILY NEWS
March 23, 2025

Welcome to FECC! We want to welcome you to our time of corporate worship! We also want to challenge you with God’s Word. In John 4, after her encounter with Jesus, she went back to the city to tell others about Jesus. As we focus on missions this month, may we increase in our desire to tell others about our experience with Jesus. If you are looking for a spiritual home, or have any prayer requests or concerns, please see your Congregational Pastor.
2. “Deepening Your Friendship with God” Day Retreat, Saturday, April 12: today is the deadline for the early registration, $30. After today, the regular registration is $45. The retreat will be on the beautiful campus of Mary & Joseph Retreat Center (Rancho Palos Verdes). Carpool available if needed.
3. Lent, March 5 – April 17: The Lenten season is a journey of reflection, meditation, worship, and service. Prayer during Lent focuses on repenting from our sins and our need for God’s forgiveness, mercy, and love. Fasting, or giving something up, is also common during Lent. The idea is that giving up something that is a regular part of life (such as dessert, social media, or TV) as a reminder of Jesus’ sacrifice. Fasting also allows us more time to connect with God.

1. Welcome to Fullerton! We want to welcome you to our time of corporate worship! We also want to challenge you with God’s Word. In John 4, after her encounter with Jesus, she went back to the city to tell others about Jesus. As we focus on missions this month, may we increase in our desire to tell others about our experience with Jesus. This morning, we are honored to have Mike Tseng share the Word of God with us. If you have any prayer requests or concerns, please see Pastor David.
2. Lunch Cost will be $5 starting in April: due to rising food costs and after careful consideration, it has been decided that the lunch fee will be $5, starting in April. We hope to keep up the quality and quantity of the lunch we serve on Sundays. If this is a financial burden, please see one of our pastors for financial assistance.

4. Griffith Observatory Loop Trail Hike, Saturday, March 29, 8:30AM: join us for some exercise and fellowship as we enjoy the great outdoors. This is a moderate 5-mile hike, which should take about 3 hours. We are meeting at the parking lot off of Western Canyon Road. For more information, see Guang
Chao.
5. Love Fullerton Volunteer Day, April 26, 8:00AM to 1:30PM: This is a great way for us to connect, participate, give and serve our community. If you plan to participate, please sign up with your fellowship with your name and email address. For more information, please see Pastor David.
6. Prayer Requests: (1) for us to grow in our desire to tell others about our experience with the Lord as a response to the call to being a missional church; (2) for us to deepen our friendship with God through the “Draw Near” Day Retreat; (3) for a speedy and full recovery those who are dealing with injuries or illnesses; (4) for a part-time youth director to minister to our young people. For Our World: (a) for God’s shalom even as bloodshed and fighting resumes in Palestine; (b) for peace in all areas of the world, including Ukraine and Russia, where an exchange of 372 prisoners of war took place in an agreement brokered by the United Arab Emirates. We pray that this gesture of goodwill leads to a ceasefire; (c) for the disruption caused to thousands of travelers after Heathrow Airport was shut down due to a substation fire. The airport has the most international connections in the world in 2024; (d) for the family and friends of the victims and survivors of a plane crash off the Caribbean coast of Honduras last Monday. At least 12 people were killed; (e) for the firefighting personnel and the people affected by the large brush fire that spread rapidly amid dry, windy conditions in South Florida. The 344 Fire has prompted several road closures, including a key stretch of U.S. 1 that connects the Florida Keys to the mainland; (f) for the Midwest and Northeast states as snow and blustery winds are expected. A wintry mix could lead to slick roads across the Great Lakes and interior Northeast. Praise: a 21-year old man is the first ever person to be cured of sickle cell anemia following a pioneering gene therapy.

退修會地點位於風景優美的 Mary & Joseph Retreat Center(Rancho Palos Verdes)。
